Really comfortable stay, just a couple points of feedback is that the facilities could have been cleaner. Don't get me wrong, it was not bad at all, but I think a bit more effort cannot hurt. Very convenient location - but hard to locate the sign when driving past. I wish the pods itself had some sort of air-con (not just a fan) because it can get very hot.
The location is very good and it is very convenient to go everywhere. I am very lucky to choose this hotel. The surrounding area of the hotel is very quiet. The accommodation capsule is very chic and unique. The public area is very open …
It was a comfortable and clean stay but the only issue was that our pod was right in front of the door going to the bathroom and the whole night we could hear the door slamming really loudly so we had trouble sleeping. It’s a shame the pods aren’t noise proof as other than that we had a nice stay.
I think the idea of building a hostel like this is brilliant. If you're not a fan of shared rooms, you'll love the Pod Inn. Lots of beds in a small space with plenty of privacy. The pods are made of plastic, which makes it very noisy. However, earplugs are provided free of charge at reception. The bathrooms were clean and there are washing machines. The kitchen was okay, unfortunately there was no cooker to cook on. The location was great. The mattress was a little too hard in my opinion and one out of two USB slots in our pod was to working (no other option to charge things).
A great place to stay! The amenities were clean the other guests were quiet and respectful the beds were comfy and easy to use/figure out. I am a really light sleeper and I wasn't woken up once. It felt really safe for a solo traveller and had one of the best showers I experienced on my Tassie trip.
The kitchen setup and available areas were great. Having the lockers near your bed was a real advantage too. It was also really close to shops, near bus stops and resteraunts.
Only dislike was it was hard to find so maybe better signage and the closest carport cost an arm and a leg.
I had the best experience, the single bed capsule are big and the bed sheets impeccably clean. The common area has air fryer, rice cooker, microwave and the furniture is new: the environment feels chill and neat. From there you can access …
The walls of the pods are really thin. You will hear everything that people in other pods do.
Really hard to sleep.
The mattress is super thin too.
Otherwise it is not too bad a place to stay for a day or too.
Very cheap compared to other places.
TLDR: it's an affordable youth/backpacker hostel with less facilities and more privacy.
The pods were pretty cool and it was an interesting novel experience. I shared a double size one with my partner and we both fit comfortably and had a good sleep :) If you're taller than 180cm it probably won't be very comfortable though. The gamer LEDs are kinda fun, but there are no regular sockets available, only USB ports (and one of our two didn't even work). The place in general is not as well-maintained as the photos imply. It's really just a massive room with plastic pods in it, and some "lockers" that are just simple cabinets with card-activated locks installed. Ours didn't even close properly. I think the "store room" for oversized luggage was poorly organised with a shelf in this cramped room that you'd have to squeeze yourself along the wall to get to the end of. In the pod area there were cables across the floor taped down haphazardly with masking tape.
It's also quite dirty – our bedsheet had stains on it and the pod itself had some hair and dust inside. The toilets were pretty gross and weren't cleaned at all in our time there.
On the flipside, the location is just great. It's in the heart of the city which makes it incredibly easy to get places on foot. It's within walking distance to Cataract Gorge which is a must-see in Launceston. If you're cool with walking the Queen Victoria Museum is walkable too. The adjacent Japanese restaurant is also convenient (and yummy).
All things considered the price is seriously really great for what it is as long as you're okay to tolerate the hygiene situation.
